Happy Lunch Bunch
Everyone available for a daytime fellowship is invited to our Happy Lunch Bunch on February 17 at noon. First timers come as guests and others bring one item to complete the meal. We will enjoy celebrating “Mardi Gras (the day before the beginning of the Lenten Season.) “Mardi Gras” is French for “Fat Tuesday” but we’ll enjoy eating our tasty potluck and not worry about getting “Fat!” Please bring one item for the food table, a hot dish, a salad, or a dessert. If you make any Creole or New Orleans recipes, that would be a delightful extra. Our program will be a 4th and 5th grade class from Lincoln School with their teacher, Kim Stenback. The children always bring us smiles. Be sure to admire the art work of the Lincoln school children on display in the Narthex the two weeks before our HLB luncheon.
LERC means “Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center.” A recent program at Happy Lunch Bunch gave us new information about the value of bringing old eyeglasses. We understand how much good these old eyeglasses do for hundreds of people in third world countries. We learned the program also collects old hearing aids. These are checked out and made available to needy people in this country.
Trip for Fun
We will visit two Victorian homes in Gresham on Saturday, Feb. 21. We will pay only $5 for a tour of both the Zimmerman House and the Heslin House. Eat an early lunch at home then meet at 12:30pm for our Van ride to Gresham on the 21st. We will stop for coffee and a treat before getting back home. Please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex.
