Day Camp and VBS = July 6-9

What Matters Most – We’re almost ready!

Set up help needed Wednesday and Thursday, July 1 and 2 during the day (before 4:00 p.m.). Come by if you can spare an hour or two!

Also Needed: Photographers for the week. We have one — but another would be terrific, so we can be sure that we are capturing what’s happening!

If you can’t donate your time to Day Camp, please consider grabbing a board for specific items you could contribute which would greatly help our week. Please see Kellie or call 695-1221 if one of these positions might be a good fit for you.

Thanks!!

Sunday School Teachers

If you are interested in teaching Sunday School next year, please plan to attend an informational meeting Sunday, August 23rd. We will meet in the Conference Room after service. Ideally, we would like to have 3 teachers per class, with a minimum of 2 per teaching team. If you are interested in simply being on the substitute list, please let me know!

Many thanks to our Sunday School teachers from the 2014/15 year. Some of them will return for the 2015/16 year as well, and for that, we are very appreciative!

Summer Schedule Children’s Church

Children’s Church will take place on the following Sundays, during Worship, directly after the Children’s Message.

Please feel free to follow Kellie up to a Sunday School room for a Bible Story, game or craft, and songs: July 12, July 26, August 9, August 23.

If you’d like to assist with Children’s Church, that would be fabulous! please talk to Kellie!

Sunday School starts again at 9:30 a.m. on September 13th! Enjoy your summer break!

Parting is such sweet sorrow…..

It is with both joy (for their promising futures) as well as considerable sadness (for our loss! Darn!) that we bid farewell to the Preston family. Siri Preston sung with Trinity’s church choir for twelve years. Siri and Britta met at Pacific Lutheran University (in the choir. Of course).

Rob Preston will soon be working as an associate principal in middle school in the Tacoma area. This is an exciting move for the Prestons, as it’s Rob’s first job in school administration, and Siri’s family lives in Gig Harbor and the Tacoma area.

Siri and Rob were married by Pastor Zerby at Siri’s parents’ home in Gig Harbor. Rob and Siri have two children, Audrey (7) and Elinor (5), whom we’ve loved to watch join their family, and grow. Rob was baptized at Trinity the same day Audrey was. You may recall Eli as Mary in last year’s Christmas Program. She was perfect! Audrey clearly has her mother’s talent for singing, and has been a wonderful asset to our Children’s Choir, which has been led by Siri.

All of their Sunday School teachers were saddened to hear the girls would be moving.

We wish Rob the best in his new position — and we hope the Prestons will come back to visit often. The entire Preston family will be sorely missed by all of Trinity, but especially by our Choir Director and our Children’s Ministry Team. Good luck, Prestons!
