Day Camp Planning Meeting June 7th at noon in Activities Room
Day Camp and Vacation Bible School July 6-9 (M-TH)
Theme: What Matters Most
Through the experiences of the Old Testament friends and the words of Jesus, campers of all ages will discover What Matters Most in our lives. As we journey along with Abraham, Jonah, Ruth, Israel and Jeremiah, their stories will encourage us to live boldly, remembering God’s truth and promises every day. The lessons we learn from their lives point to what Jesus said was The Greatest Commandment: to love God and love others. Join us this summer for a grand adventure that will encourage and challenge us to live out What Matters Most.
As you know, Vacation Bible School and Day Camp is the single largest event of the year for Children’s Ministry, and it’s also the single greatest outreach for Trinity Lutheran Church. It might just be the most important thing we do in Children’s Ministry, from a perspective of reaching our community, as well as building on the relationships we have with our own young members, and the relationships they have with God.
To do all of this well, it takes a lot of people.
Next Planning Meeting for VBS is June 7th after the service, in the Activities Room. Please plan to attend if you have a child coming, or if you’d like to help out some way. If you’ve already attended one of the two meetings before this one, you need to only confirm your background check form was submitted. Thank you!
Please consider being part of the Day Camp Program: whether you’re painting a backdrop, preparing a nutritious snack, or sharing a Bible story, you are making a difference in the faith experience of a child – more likely, many children.
If you see something interesting on the volunteer list, but are unsure of the commitment, think of sharing the job, or ask me what it truly entails. Chances are, it’s not as big as you might think. Thank you for your consideration of helping out with VBS-Day Camp.
We will be updating this list in the next Tidings, as well as on the website as volunteers come up:
