2016 February Wellness Corner

Last month Sue Hoeffner provided information from the American Stroke Association and Mayo Clinic with an excellent comprehensive overview on stroke detection; warning signs and complications. Some significant risk factors listed were obesity, physical inactivity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.

TLC has a convenient and fun solution that is thought to allow a decrease in risk. Some of your friends from TLC are already attending Enhance Fitness classes 3X weekly in Stolee Hall.

Enhance Fitness is a group fitness class put on by the Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of Southwest Washington. It is designed just for older adults. Enhance Fitness improves balance, flexibility, bone density, endurance, coordination, mental sharpness and decreases your risk of falling.

Donations are welcome ($1 per class) but there is no charge to participate. Classes are held at Trinity on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1pm. Classes are also held in Battle Ground and Camas/Washougal, see the website www.HelpingElders.org for more information.

Thank you Sue for keeping us healthy over the years.
