May Trip for Fun

May Trip for Fun

“Anything Goes”

For our May Trip for Fun we will be attending the Honored Seniors Matinee of Mt. View High School’s spring musical, Anything Goes on Wednesday, May 17th at 12:30 pm.

Anything Goes debuted on Broadway in 1934 and features the music and lyrics of Cole Porter. The story involves the madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London. Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin aid Billy in his quest to win Hope. The musical features such songs as “Anything Goes”, “You’re the Top”, “It’s De-Lovely”, and “I Get a Kick Out of You”. I just received the cast list for this musical, and these kids are going to knock your socks off!

The Honored Seniors Matinee is presented free of charge as a Mt. View High School Musical Theater tradition to honor seniors in the Vancouver area. The students and directors are always very excited about the first performance of each season, the Honored Seniors Matinee.

Check the board in the Narthex to sign up. Meet at 11:45.
