In person Worship Services suspended due to the outbreak. We will be Facebook live streaming Sunday worship. Go to the Trinity Lutheran Church Vancouver WA Facebook page.
Lenten services, Kid’s Club, youth activities are all suspended as we follow Vancouver Public Schools closure. The office remains open and phones will be answered but we ask to limit in person visits unless necessary. Below is a letter from our church leadership.
Dear people of God, March 13, 2020
We know our God is a present help in trouble. (Ps 46:1) God’s word reminds us of God’s overwhelming protection and grace, especially in crisis or community threat such as we are experiencing now in the coronavirus outbreak.
We trust that you are hearing and listening to the coverage of experts and how to be safe and sanitary and distancing for the sake of the most vulnerable in our community. Trinity has been taking measures from the beginning to ensure safety in our gatherings of worship and fellowship and ministry. We continue to monitor and update and make decisions based on the most recent developments of our region and local community’s response to this crisis. We want to update the Trinity community on where we see ourselves at this moment.
Most events during the week are now cancelled (Wednesday night events, Soup suppers and Lenten worship services, choir, Happy Lunch Bunch, Youth movie night, Homebound visitation, KBC USA Conference, Kids Club, MERGE), some are still running on a week by week basis or month by month basis (Yoga, Bible Studies, Alzheimer’s group). Outside groups and Trinity small groups will take the precautions during their meetings as has been asked of them:
Any Group Using Trinity Facility…
Trinity wants to keep our doors open for you as long as possible.
*Please protect yourself and those around you by hand washing and minimal (hand-to-hand) contact within your group.
*Also, please wipe down the surface areas that you use prior to your meeting and before you leave (with disinfectant wipes).
*If you share food or drink, please use every precaution (ie. serving with gloves, no self-serving of food) to limit the spread of germs between group members.
We will notify you should things change.
One of our challenges as the body of Christ during this time of protective distancing is being able to maintain faithful giving even ifour people can’t meet together. In that case folks are encouraged to send their offering by mail to the church office or use online giving.
If any from the Trinity community are in need of anything or have a specific need during this time, please feel free to call the church office (M-TH, 9am-2:30pm, 360-695-1221), and we will facilitate the help you need. Certainly, we are a community that depends on each other and can benefit from social media at such a time as this!
Please pray that God watch over and protect our community and nation and world through this crisis. And believe that God will watch over your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore. (Ps 121) We know that our God is with us and will see us through!
Jesus’ peace to you,
