Trinity’s Health Ministry exists to support the members of the church as well as the community at large. Whole-person health is encouraged and supported.
Parish Nurse Ministry
The Parish Nurse provides a number of services to church members, including emphasizing information and education in the areas of health and wellness of mind, body and spirit. Trinity has also served as a clinical site for nursing students from the University of Portland and WSU Vancouver during their community health rotations.
Trinity hosts quarterly blood drives for the Southwest Washington Blood Program, the local division of the Puget Sound Blood Center. Coordinated by Trinity’s Parish Nurse, church members and friends are encouraged to sign up in advance, but “walk-ins” are also welcomed.
Trinity’s Care Ministry provides our home bound members a link to the church through visitation and sharing of communion. Care Ministers alert the Parish Nurse if they note any health or safety concerns.
The Prayer Ministry Team is made up of people who are diligent in their commitment to pray regularly for those on our prayer list, a portion of which is listed every Sunday morning in the our church bulletin.
The Knifty Knitters are a group of dedicated knitters who knit prayer shawls for Trinity members, as well as others on the prayer list. The ministry is a way for our church to reach out to our larger community. It is rare when we are unable to provide a shawl when they are needed. In addition to prayer shawls the group has knit hats for premature babies born at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital. We are always eager to expand our group of knitters. Our prayer shawls are simple, you only need to know one stitch. We are happy to have knitters busy working on shawls even if they are not able to come to our meetings. Contact: Ruth Thomas
