It takes many volunteers to run a church like ours, please take a look at the list below to see if there is a way that God is calling you to help your church family.
Day to Day Church Operations:
Reader Board– change the message on the reader board at the main entrance of our parking lot once a month and for special events.
Building Maintenance– meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings to help with various maintenance projects.
Grounds Maintenance– plant and care for the flowers around the grounds.
On Sunday Mornings:
Van Driver– drive the “green machine” van to pick up members for church on Sunday mornings. Contact: John Mudge
Audio/Visual Team– work at the audio/video board during the service. Contact: Bill Craig
Worship Ministry Teams– sign up to volunteer for these worship ministry opportunities in the Narthex:
- Scripture Readers: read scripture passages during the worship service
- Greeters: greet people as they enter the church
- Ushers: collect offering and usher people to the front during communion
- Coffee Hour Preparers: prepare coffee and cookies for fellowship time and clean up afterward
- Altar Guild: prepare for and clean up after Holy Communion, take care of communion robes and acolyte-robes
Nursery sub volunteers– Our wonderful Nursery Attendant, Addie, is faithfully in the nursery each Sunday taking care of our youngest TLC members. Occasionally she needs to leave town or take a sick day. We need a list of people to call on when this happens. Ideally, the person in the nursery will know CPR, be able to lift a child up to 25 pounds if necessary, and have a love of children.
Sunday School substitute teachers– We have a list of teachers who are willing to teach the elementary grades when the regular team is unavailable, but we do need a couple of people willing to work with the younger children – 4 and 5 year olds, as well as the 2 and 3 year old class. Both of these classes typically have 3-5 students on a given Sunday. Easy-to-follow curriculum is provided.
The Prayer Ministry Team is made up of individuals who are diligent in their commitment to pray regularly for those on our prayer list.
The list includes:
- Thanks for answered prayer
- long term prayer needs
- those that do not wish to be listed publicly in the bulletin
- home bound members
- cancer post treatment in remission
- church needs
Requests for prayer are made directly to the Pastor, to the office or to the Parish Nurse.
If you want to request prayer or are interested in becoming a part of the ministry please contact the church office.
The Care Ministry team provides a link between the church and home bound members and friends through visitation and sharing of communion. Care ministers alert the Parish Nurse if they note any health or safety concerns. If you would like to be on the Care Ministry team contact the church office.
